Islamic Wills

If you live in the UK, then having a will is a must. Islamic law says that if you are a Muslim, you must give away your money after you die. Prophet Muhammad said, “It is not permissible for any Muslim who has something to will to stay for two nights without having his last will and testament written and kept ready with him.” [Bukhari]

The basic rule is that your assets get divided up according to Islamic law (we will figure that out for you). But you can leave 1/3 of your estate to anyone that isn’t going to be part of your Will (e.g. a charity). We call this a bequest. You can make a bequest in the last section of the form.
